Michele Mossa è professore ordinario di Idraulica presso il Politecnico di Bari, dottore di ricerca Ingegneria Idraulica per l'Ambiente e il Territorio. È responsabile scientifico del Laboratorio di Ingegneria Costiera – LIC, membro del consiglio direttivo del Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze del Mare (CoNISMa) per il Politecnico di Bari, membro del Fluid Mechanics Committee dell’International Association for Hydro Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), membro del Senato Accademico del Politecnico di Bari, coordinatore del dottorato di ricerca in “Rischio, sviluppo ambientale, territoriale ed edilizio”, delegato del Rettore per la ricerca e il trasferimento tecnologico. È stato membro del consiglio direttivo dell’IAHR, presidente della Education and Professional Development Section dell’IAHR, esperto in Idraulica e Oceanografia per la valutazione dei progetti di ricerca del Research Council of Norway e dell’OeAD (Österreichische Austauschdienst) GmbH Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research. È associate editor delle seguenti riviste scientifiche: Scientific Reports - Nature, Journal of Hydraulic Research, Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Engineering & Computational Mechanics, Journal of Multidisciplinary Science, Insight - Civil Engineering, Global Journal of Engineering Science and Researches, SCIRES-IT - SCIentific RESearch and Information Technology, Water, Heliyon.
Autore di diverse pubblicazioni e testi nel campo dell’idraulica, revisore ed editor di diverse riviste internazionali, i suoi principali temi di ricerca sono legati all’idraulica marittima, fluviale e ambientale, con particolare riguardo alla meccanica delle onde, alle correnti marine, ai processi di erosione localizzata e ai problemi della diffusione di inquinanti in corpi idrici.

Michele Mossa is professor of Hydraulics at the Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy), with a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering for the Environment and Land. He is chief scientist of the Coastal Engineering Laboratory – LIC, member of the board of directors of the National Consortium of Universities for Marine Sciences (CoNISMa) for the Polytechnic University of Bari, member of the Fluid Mechanics Committee of the International Association for Hydro Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), elected representative of Academic Senate of the Polytechnic University of Bari, coordinator of the PhD course in "Environmental and Building Risk and Development", Deputy Rector of the Polytechnic University of Bari for the Research and Technology Transfer. He served as a member of the IAHR council, president of the IAHR Education and Professional Development Section, reviewer as expert in Hydraulics and Oceanography of the research project grant applications of the Research Council of Norway and of the OeAD (Österreichische Austauschdienst) GmbH Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research. He is associate editors of Scientific Reports - Nature, Journal of Hydraulic Research, Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Engineering & Computational Mechanics, Journal of Multidisciplinary Science, Insight - Civil Engineering, Global Journal of Engineering Science and Researches, SCIRES-IT - SCIentific RESearch and Information Technology, Water, Heliyon.
He is referee of many internation journals. The main topics of his research group are relevant with the Environmental and Maritime Hydraulics. He is authors of many papers and books and he is actively involved in international and Italian research projects.
