RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:
Interested in Environmental and Maritime Hydraulics: mechanics of waves and sea currents; turbulence at breaking; erosion phenomena; diffusion/dispersion mechanisms and spreading of pollutants; vegetated flows; buoyant and non-buoyant jets released in flows.
Involved in both experimental and numerical modelling. My laboratory activity includes the use of innovative measuring instruments/techniques, such as LDA, ADV, ADCP and PIV.

- Investigator in 14 agreements of the Polytechnic of Bari with public/private institutions, 4 international projects and more than 15 national projects
- Principal Investigator of the international research project ‘JEts interacting with VEgetation in Rotating Basin (18JEVERB)’, selected after peer review in the European Programm H2020 Hydralab+ Adaptation for Climate Change. Project activity carried out at the LEGI, Coriolis Rotating Platform – CNRS, Grenoble (FR), 8-9/2018.
- Author of more than 90 papers (including 40 journal papers and 21 conference papers indexed in Scopus database); current H index: 19
